Short Text Messages
You can receive, display, edit and send short text messages, of up to
160 characters to mobile phones on the same network or any
network that has a roaming agreement.
Setting the Phone for Text Messages
Before you can send a message you must enter the Message Centre
number into Parameters (your Service Provider can supply the
Message Centre number). If the Message Centre number has been
pre-programmed on your SIM, press
B
.

Enter message centre number in international dial format – see
“International Dialing” page 7.
Sending a Text Message

Enter the message (up to 160 characters) –

You are prompted to send the message. If you do
not want to send the message press

and the message is stored
in the
Send List
.

number from the Phonebook (

You maybe prompted for deliveryconfirmation. If you do not want

The default for deliveryconfirmation can be set using the
Report
parameter in the
Parameters
