Preventing Accidental Erasure of Files
(Lock setting)
We recommend locking your precious files without fail.

Access the menu in the playback
mode

Lock

Select the file and press the jog ball.

] is displayed on the LCD monitor.
The setting is cancelled when
selecting the picture again.

To cancel all locked files
When you select
Lock reset
in step 1
and then select
Yes
on the confirmation
screen, all the
lock
setting
s are
cancelled.
• Formatting the card will delete all the
data on the card, even if you protect
the files in this procedure. (P18)
• You cannot delete the locked files. If
you want to delete
the
file, cancel the
lock setting first.
• The lock setting may not be effective in
other products.
• Sliding the SD Memory Card
Write-Protect switch to
LOCK
prevents
the picture from deletion even if the
protection is not set. (P16)
• Audio dubbing, DPOF setting, resizing
and altering the color cannot be
done
with locked pictures. (P48, 51, 52, 53)
