Installation Precautions
The controller uses a very weak infrared light for its signal, which can result in the signal not being
received because of the following in
fl
uences, so take care in where the indoor unit is installed.
• Inverter or rapid-start type
fl
uorescent lights (Models without glow lamps)
• Plasma display or LCD televisions
• Direct sunlight or other sources of bright light
Install in a location that does not interfere the operation
• You cannot operate if the distance between the remote controller and the receiver is greater than
that signals can travel.
• Make sure nothing is between the remote controller and the receiver that could block the signal.
• Make sure the air conditioner works with the remote controller in the location where it will be
installed.
Avoid the following locations for installation.
• Under direct sunlight
• Location near heat source
• Location where the controller will be splashed with water or a
ff
ected by dampness or humidity
• Uneven surface
• Location that is subject to excessive vibration or physical impacts. (Fixing screws may come o
ff
,
and the controller may drop.)
• Location with large amount of oil smoke or steam (such as kitchen or machine factory)
Install the controller vertically to the
fl
oor.
Install the controller at a location with suitable temperature and humidity for using.
Do not install controller at the locations with the equipment (medical equipment, etc.) which
generates the high-frequency emissions. (It may interfere with the equipment and may cause
accidents due to malfunction.)
Install at least 1 m away from TV, radio, PC. etc. (To prevent fuzzy images or noise)
