It is easier to see the whole screen if the eyepiece is detached at times when you want to look up or away
from the viewfinder and take shots.
Also, detach the eyepiece if there is any dirt on the mirror so that the dirt can be removed.
Note
When there is any dirt on the mirror, blow it away with a blower, etc.
If any dirt is still left, wipe it away using a soft cloth.

Turn the lock ring as far as it will go in
the counterclockwise direction as seen
from the eyepiece side, and line up the
alignment marks on the lock ring and
viewfinder barrel.

Detach the eyepiece.

Line up the alignment marks on the
lock ring and the viewfinder barrel and
slide the eyepiece back into place.

Turn the lock ring clockwise as far as
the
position.

Do not leave the eyepiece outdoors pointing at the sun. Heat from the sunlight may damage the
parts inside.
•
Take care not to lose or misplace the eyepiece after it has been removed.
