For Sea Level Installation 0 ~ 3,280 Feet (0 ~ 1,000 M):
WARNING: Improper adjustment, alteration, service or maintenance can cause property
damage, personal injury, or death.
Sea Level DIP Switch Adjustment
The original PC Board on the water heater from a factory is
set at the sea level operation (0 ~ 3,280 feet) (0 ~ 1,000 m),
however the altitude setting of the PC board for after-sales
service (spare parts) is NOT set at any level.
When the Burner Control Assembly (PCB) was replaced, the
adjustment of Sea Level Chip is also required. (When the
water heater is required back to the sea level operation from
high altitude setting, the same adjustment is required.)
Without adjusting the Sea Level Chip, the water heater may
not function properly.
NOTICE: A different Sea Level Chip
is required for Indoor, Outdoor and
Direct Vent models, type of gas
and serial number.
Check the number on the Sea
Level Chip. (Refer to the table
comes with the chip.)

How to adjust the Sea Level Chip on the PCB:
(1) Make sure again that the water heater is installed at the
sea level (0 ~ 3,280 feet) (0 ~ 1,000 m).
(2) If the altitude is more than 3,280 feet (1,000 m), the
adjustment of the High Altitude Chip is required. (Refer to
the proper section.)
(3) Ensure that you have the correct Sea Level Chip
for proper model and gas type.
(4) Disconnect the electric power to the water heater. Turn off
the gas shutoff valve and water shutoff valve.
(5) Remove the front cover.
(6) Place Sea Level Chip as shown on PCB (Refer to
diagram on this section.)
(7) Turn on the electric power.
(8) Find the DIP Switch #1 and #2 located at the top left hand
side of the PCB (Refer to illustration for DIP Switch
location).
(9) Change the DIP Switch #1 and #2 setting to the “ON”
position. DO NOT alter any other DIP Switch. (The LED
on the PCB is flashing. At the same time, the display of
the MAIN/BATH remote control starts to flash.)
(10) Find the Adjusting Button located at the top left hand
side of the PCB.
(11) Press the Adjusting Button until the LED on the PCB
(the display of the remote control) changes “Flashing” to
“Illuminating”.
