The mains leads must be at least type H05RN-F and
have three wires. The type designation must be
printed on the mains lead. Only buy mains leads that
have their type data printed on them. The plugs and
connection sockets on mains leads must be made of
rubber and be splashproof. Mains leads are subject
to length restrictions. Long mains leads require larger
cable cross-sections. Mains leads and connection
cables must be checked at regular intervals for signs
of damage. Ensure that the leads are not connected
to the power supply when you check them. Uncoil
the mains lead in full. Also check the mains lead
connection points at plugs and connection sockets
for kinks.
The lawn mower if designed for use in private
gardens.
Lawn mowers for use in private gardens are mowers
whose annual use does not generally exceed 50
hours and that are primarily used for tending grass or
lawn areas, but not in public facilities, parks or sports
grounds and not for agricultural or forestry use.
Compliance with the operating manual supplied by
the manufacturer is a prerequisite for the proper
usage of the lawn mower. The operating manual
contains servicing and maintenance instructions as
well as directions for use.
Important. As a result of the potential danger to the
user, the lawn mower must not be used to trim
bushes, hedges and shrubs, to cut or shred climbing
plants or lawns on roof gardens or in balcony boxes
or to clean footpaths, nor must it be used as a
chopper for shredding tree or hedge cuttings.
Furthermore, the lawn mower must not be used as a
cultivator or to level off uneven areas of ground, e.g.
molehills.
For safety reasons the lawn mower must not be used
as a power unit for other tools and tool sets of any
type unless the manufacturer expressly approves
such use.
4. Assembling the lawn mower
The lawn mower is supplied non-assembled. The
complete handle bar and the grass box must be fitted
to the lawn mower before it is used. Follow the
instructions step by step and refer to the illustrations
to make the assembly work easy for yourself.
Fitting the handle bar (see Figures 2 to 4)
Take the bottom handle bar holder and insert it into
the holes provided for it in the lawn mower casing
(Figure 2). Using the round-headed screws and the
corresponding star handles, secure the top handle
bar to the handle bar holders (Figure 3). First of all,
however, insert the cable strain relief clamp (A)
(Figure 3). Then secure the bottom handle bar holder
in the mower casing using the screws supplied
(Figure 4).
After this, secure the cable on the handle bar using
the cable holders.
Fitting the grass box (see Figures 5 to 7)
First of all you must join together the two halves,
ensuring that the hooks provided for this purpose
meet and engage (Figure 5). Then secure the two
halves with the screws provided (Figure 6). Lift the
discharge flap (Figure 1 Item 7) with one hand and
attach the grass box from the top with your other
hand (Figure 7).
5. Adjusting the cutting heights
Important. The cutting height may only be adjusted
after the motor has been switched off and the plug
disconnected from the power supply.
Before you start using the mower check that the
cutting tool is not blunt and its fastenings are not
damaged. Replace blunt and/or damaged cutting
tools to ensure that you do not create an imbalance.
Switch off the motor and disconnect the plug from
the power supply to carry out this check.
The cutting height can be adjusted using the wheels
(see Figures 8 und 9). It is possible to set three
different cutting positions. These result in cutting
heights of 30, 45 and 60 mm. All the wheels must be
set to the same height for mowing the lawn.
6. Starting up
Connect the mains lead to the switch group (Figure
1/ Item 1) and secure the mains lead with the cable
strain relief clamp (Figure 1/Item 2).
Important
To prevent the lawn mower being switched on
accidentally, the switch and plug combination is fitted
with a two-point switch (Figure 10/ Item 1), which
must be pressed before the lever (Figure 10 / Item 2)
can be pulled. When the lever is released the lawn
mower will be switched off.
