Waking up the screen and turning it off
Wake up the screen and leave the phone
turned off when you want to use only the
organizer features of your smartphone, for
example, when you’re on a plane and want
to look at your calendar. You can also turn
off the screen without turning off the
wireless features on your smartphone. You
can turn your screen on and off by pressing
Power/End .
Making calls from the
Today screen
Your smartphone offers several ways to
make phone calls from the Today screen.
Dialing from the Today screen
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Make sure your
phone is on and that you’re inside a
coverage area (see Turning your phone on).
1 Go to your Today screen.
2 Using the numbered keys on the
keyboard, enter a phone number in the
Dial Lookup field.

You can also turn your phone
on and off from the Today screen by pressing
Menu (right action key), selecting Wireless
Manager , and then selecting Phone .

You can go to Wireless
Manager by tapping the signal-strength icon
and tapping Wireless Manager .
TIP
You can set how long the screen stays on.
Press Start , select Settings , select the
System tab, and then select Power . Select
the Advanced tab. Adjust the number of
minutes the phone stays on when idle using
the
On battery power setting.
