Browsing the web

Internet Explorer Mobile provides quick and
easy access to web pages. You can view
most sites on your smartphone that you
can view on your computer, including those
with security and advanced features, such
as JavaScript and frames.

Internet Explorer Mobile supports
JavaScript, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL),
cookies, and the Flash plug-in, but does not
support other plug-ins (Shockwave,
VBScript, WML script, and so on) or Java
applets.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Do the following:

•

Be sure to subscribe to data services
from your wireless service provider.
This is necessary for browsing the web.

•

Make sure your phone is on and that
you’re inside a coverage area (see
Turning your phone on).

•

If you have access to a Wi-Fi network,
verify that Wi-Fi is on and gather any
necessary network connection settings
(see Connecting to a Wi-Fi network).

Viewing a web page

By default, Internet Explorer Mobile scales
web page content to fit your smartphone
screen so that you can view most of the
information without scrolling left or right.
This is referred to as Mobile Mode. If you
want to view the website as you would on
a desktop computer screen, you can
change to Desktop Mode (see Customizing
your Internet Explorer Mobile settings).
