User’s Manual
Rev. C - January 2002
Function button #1 (NORMAL) selects normal HDCD dynamic decimation filtering. Function
button #3 (FIXED_1) selects a fixed decimation filter. If an HDCD A/D converted 44.1 kHz
or 48 kHz digital recording (20-bit, 24-bit, or 16-bit) is converted back to analog for
analog processing and again converted to digital, the FIXED_1 filter should be used for the
second A/D conversion. Function button #5 (FIXED_2) selects another type of fixed deci-
mation filter. Pressing ENTER activates the selection. If a fixed filter is selected, the
System Status indicator lights orange to show a non-standard mode. (Fixed filter 1 should
also be used for A/D frequency response testing.)
Monitor Input HDCD Code Detect Menu
In all AD operating modes, the Monitor Digital Input Word Length Menu is reached from
the Operating Menu by selecting (SETUP/INPUT/HDCDBIT).
Function buttons 1-3 select the digital input HDCD code detect word length. Pressing
ENTER activates the selected word length.
In all AD operating modes, selecting DIG_IN in the Operating Menu allows monitoring of
digital sources, such as the output of a digital recorder being fed the digital outputs of the
Model Two’s A/D converters. The Monitor Input HDCD Code Detect Menu is used to set the
word length of HDCD LSB code detection. If the word length of the digital input signal is
different from the Code Detect setting, HDCD code will not be detected, even if the input
signal is HDCD.
Monitor Reference Clock Menu
In all AD operating modes, the Monitor Reference Clock Menu is reached from the Operat-
ing Menu by selecting (SETUP/INPUT/MON_REF).
