BACKGROUND TO HOME CONTENT SHARING (cont.)
Ethernet-only network
This installation manual gives further details (on following pages) of the recommended installation: a MoCA-Ethernet hybrid network that uses existing
coaxial cabling within the home.
An Ethernet-only connection scenario is also possible, as shown below, but this requires a lot of additional Ethernet cabling through the house. If this is
the only possible solution, however, you must remember the following:
• the Ethernet switches must be Gigabit Ethernet (1000-BaseT);
• the NAS must still be connected (via a low-pass filter) to the cable network to allow its software to be upgraded over the cable.
