WARNING!
Failure to unplug your detail sander could result in accidental
starting causing possible serious injury.
Sanding Sheet Installation
Your detail sander is equipped with a hook & loop base plate (3). This uses hook
and loop technology, which firmly grips the sanding sheets when applied with
moderate pressure.
1. To change, merely peel off the old sanding
sheet, remove dust from the hook & loop
base plate (3) if necessary, and press the
new sanding sheet in place.
2. Be sure to align the sanding sheet holes
with the holes in the hook & loop base plate
(3). This allows the dust extraction system to
function effectively (Fig. 1).
After considerable use, the hook & loop base plate (3) surface will become worn,
and must be replaced when it no longer offers a firm grip. If the hook & loop base
plate (3) facing is wearing prematurely, decrease the amount of pressure applied
during operation of the sander. Damage to the hook & loop base plate (3) is not
covered by the warranty.
Note:
Please refer to the maintenance section (page 11) for backing pad
replacement procedure.
Dust Extraction Adaptor
A dust extraction hose can be connected
to the dust extraction adaptor (6) for
effective dust extraction.
When working for long periods of time on
wood that produces dust detrimental to
health, the sander can be connected to a
suitable external dust extraction device.
The dust that is produced while working can be detrimental to health, inflammable
or explosive. Suitable safety measures are required.
Examples: Some dusts are regarded as carcinogenic. Use suitable dust/chip
extraction and wear a dust respirator.
From time to time, clean dust exhaust openings with a dry brush. Clean the
housing only with a damp cloth, do not use any solvents! Dry thoroughly afterwards.
