14000 Motherboard Tray Assembly
These instructions explain how to replace the motherboard tray assembly on the
Snap Server.
Replacement Part Inventory
Before you begin, make sure you have the following items from the package
containing the motherboard tray assembly:
• The motherboard PCA with DIMM, CPU, and mounting tray in an anti-static bag
• Server ID label
Tools Required
• Phillips screwdriver
Overview of the Procedure
To remove and replace the motherboard tray assembly, you perform the following
tasks:
• Shut down the server and disconnect the power cords and SCSI and Ethernet
connectors
• Remove the old motherboard tray assembly
• Remove the SCSI and Ethernet cards from the old motherboard
• Install the SCSI and Ethernet cards on the new motherboard
• Insert the new motherboard tray assembly
• Reattach the power cords and SCSI and Ethernet connectors
• Restart the server
