7.3 Cleaning
NOTICE
Improper cleaning of the wheelchair seat cushion
Risk of damage to seat cushion due to user error
►
Do not machine wash the foam components.
►
Do not dry the seat cushion and its components in the tumble dryer.
►
Gently wipe the surface of the foam components with a soft, damp cloth or sponge; do not
rub. Do not use a brush or similar on the surface.
►
To prevent mould formation, the foam components must be completely dry before putting
them into the cover.
►
Do not wash the cover at a temperature higher than specified. The cover can shrink when
washed at higher temperatures. This could impede the seat cushion's ability to redistribute
pressure and damage the fabric.
►
Do not use any bleaching agents or fabric softeners for cleaning.
INFORMATION
►
In case of advanced wear and tear, have the components that are available as spare parts
replaced by qualified personnel.
►
To disinfect the cover, add a standard hygiene detergent during washing.
►
Use an additional incontinence cover in case of heavy incontinence. Observe the care and
cleaning instructions for the incontinence cover.
Clean the product every month.
7.3.1 Cleaning the cover
1) Unzip and remove the cover for separate washing (see Page 13).
2)
Only when foam wedges are used:
Take the foam wedges out of the pockets inside the
cover. Wipe the foam wedges using a damp sponge and mild cleaning agent. Allow to air dry.
3) Close the zip on the cover before washing.
4) The cover can be washed at +60 °C [+140 °F] using a mild, environmentally friendly deter
gent.
Recommendation:
Wash the cover using the delicate cycle at
+40 °C [+104 °F]
to prevent
excessive wear and tear.
5) Allow to air dry.
6)
Only when foam wedges are used:
After all components are dry, insert the foam wedges
back into the pockets (see fig. 6).
