Exposed pinch points
Pinching, crushing of limbs (e.g. fingers) due to lack of caution in danger areas, damage to the product

Note that when seat functions are used, inherent pinch and shear points are located between the seat frame
and the power wheelchair frame.

Ensure that no body parts, such as hands or feet, are in the danger area while the seat functions are used.
►
Ensure that no interfering objects, such as clothing or other obstacles, are in the danger area while the seat
functions are used.
WARNING
Overloading of the actuators
Risk of falling, tipping, pinching, crushing of limbs due to improper handling

Avoid overloading the actuators. Overloading may cause components to break, leading to uncontrolled drop
ping of the seat or causing the backrest to flip back.
WARNING
Lack of maintenance
Severe user injuries, damage to the product due to maintenance errors

Check the adjustment functions for visible signs of damage at least
1 x per month
and ensure all screw con
nections are tight.
NOTICE
Improper use of electric seat options
Damage to the product through user error

When using electric seat options, note that the seat function actuators are not designed for continuous use,
only for short-term use under limited loads (10% load, 90% idle time).
►
Observe the following guidelines: at maximum load capacity, 10 seconds of activation time must be followed
by approx. 90 seconds of idle time. The power seat functions are considered independently of the driving
function for this purpose.
►
Only activate the power seat functions if no fault or error is present.
4 Use
INFORMATION

Please see the section “Control device” in the instructions for use for the main product for further information
about your power wheelchair’s control device and control panel.

Observe the operating instructions for the use of power seat functions. These are found in the sections “Con
trolling power seat functions” and “Joystick functions” in the instructions for use for the main product.

If the power wheelchair is equipped with one or more power seat functions, they are activated and controlled
via the control panel. For the activation and control of the respective seat function on the control panel, see the
section “Control device” in the instructions for use for the main product.

The following icons on the control panel indicate that the back support angle adjustment has been activated:

TEN° control panel/TEN° LCD module: See Fig. 2 A.

JSM-LED-L control panel: See Fig. 2 B.
–
enAble50 control panel/LCD monitor: See Fig. 2 C.

VR2 control panel: See Fig. 2 D. After activation using the [Select additional power function] button (see
Fig. 2 D, item 1), one of the two LED displays [Seat function 1/2] lights up depending on the programming
(see Fig. 2 D, item 2).

Once the back support angle adjustment function is activated, the back support is adjusted by moving the joy
stick forward or backward:

Back: Back support tilts backward continuously.
–
Forward: Back support tilts forward continuously.
