4.3.2 Passive Prosthetic Fittings
The 10A40 wooden adapter is used in the fabrication of a passive pros-
thesis� The adapter is to be milled down to a diameter of 34mm� Roughen
the inside of the forearm socket with 634A3 acetone� Allow the acetone
to evaporate prior to gluing the wooden adapter into the forearm with
634K18 Sealing Resin Compact Adhesive�
Alignment of the hand should always be performed in the neutral-zero
position� However, the individual conditions and needs of the patients
must be considered in all cases�
4.3.3 Body-Powered Prosthetic Fitting
For a body-powered prosthetic fitting, 10V18=34 or 10V36=34 Wrist
Unit is being used� After separating the wrist unit, the lamination ring is
glued into the roughened inside of the forearm using 636K18 Sealing
Resin Compact Adhesive�
After performing the prosthetic fitting (chapter 4�3�2 to 4�3�3), the cover
and the countersunk head screw (fig� 12) are mounted� Both parts are
routed through the inside of the outer socket and connected to the lower
part of the elbow component� The countersunk head screw is tightened
with a torque of 5 Nm�
