INFORMATION
►
Please be aware that with a larger negative camber the overall width of the wheelchair increases and the drive
wheels are subjected to higher stress.
►
With large negative camber a seat inclination of 0° is recommended.
►
Camber washers have to be added as needed for a wheel camber of
6°/8°
. These settings are generally
made at the factory. Deviations may occur depending on the wheel size and tyre diameter, as well as when
using height-adjustable armrests.
►
The manufacturer offers a conversion kit for a wheel camber of
8°
.
Adjusting the drive wheel camber
1) Remove the wheels.
2) Remove the hexagon nut (see fig. 3, item 1) from the quick-release axle receiver bushing (see fig. 3, item 2)
and take off the fitting to the inside.
3) Slide the camber washers onto the quick-release axle receiver bushing according to the table and illustration
(see fig. 4). The
2°
label has to face out respectively.
4) Align the camber washers according to the table and illustration (see fig. 4). The outsides of the camber wash
ers must be parallel.
5) Slide the fitting back on and slightly tighten the hexagon nut (see fig. 3, item 1). Make sure that the position of
the camber washers for the wheel camber is not changed.
6)
If needed:
The distance between the drive wheel and the side panel can be adjusted continuously by turning
the counter nut (see fig. 3, item 3).
7) Tighten the hexagon nut and counter nut on both sides of the quick-release axle receiver bushing to
50 Nm
(see fig. 3, item 1/3).
INFORMATION: After adjustment, the camber of the left and right drive wheels must have the same
angle.
8)
If necessary:
Readjust the height and alignment of the caster attachment device as well as the wheel locks
(see information at the start of the section).
6.2.4 Adjusting the quick-release axle
The quick-release axle should be set so the wheel is correctly engaged, with no play on the axle.
1) Hold the quick-release axle by the head (wrench size:
19 mm
) and by the tip (wrench size:
11 mm
) with a ring
and open-ended wrench respectively.
