Drive wheel position

Effects

The  seat  height  can  be  further  adjusted  in  combination  with  a  height
adjustment of the caster wheels.

The  drive  wheel  can  be  installed  at  13  height  positions  in  the  drive  wheel  adapter  (see  fig. 2;  see  fig. 32,
item 1–13).
1)  Remove the wheels.
2)  Loosen the hexagon nut (see fig. 3, item 1) on the quick-release axle receiver bushing (see fig. 3, item 2) on the

inside of the drive wheel adapter so that the camber washers can be pushed apart slightly.

3)  Move  the  quick-release  axle  receiver  bushing  together  with  the  hexagon  nuts  and  camber  washers  into  the

desired position.

4)  Engage the lugs of the camber washers at the desired new position.
5)  Firmly retighten the hexagon nut (see fig. 3, item 1). Make sure that the position of the camber washers for the

wheel camber is not changed.

6)

If needed:

The distance between the drive wheel and the side panel can be adjusted continuously by turning

the counter nut (see fig. 3, item 3).

7)  Tighten  the  hexagon  nut  and  counter  nut  on  both  sides  of  the  quick-release  axle  receiver  bushing  to

50 Nm

(see fig. 3, item 1/3).

INFORMATION: Once changed, the left and right quick-release axle receiver bushings must both have
the same vertical position in the frame.

8)

If  necessary:

Readjust  the  height  and  alignment  of  the  caster  attachment  device  as  well  as  the  wheel  locks

(see information at the start of the section).

6.2.3 Adjusting the drive wheel camber

The modular system of the product offers camber washers for different sloped settings of the rear wheels.
The rear wheel camber is adjusted by exchanging the camber washers or adding camber washers on the quick-
release axle mounting. This has the following effects:

Position of drive wheel

Effects

0° position

Narrow track, excellent straight-line stability

Low rolling resistance

Wheel camber

Wheelchair becomes more manoeuvrable, turns faster and tips less easily
to the side

The wheel position protects the hands when turning the handrim

Overall width increases

Increased rolling resistance

The drive wheel camber can be set to 0°, 2°, 4°, 6° or 8°.
The settings can be configured with a corresponding number and alignment of the 2° camber washers:
