How to check the USB interface driver installation:

Connect the OTT IrDA-Link USB to a USB interface on the
PC.

Select "Start"

"Control Panel"

"System"
➝
"Hard-
ware"
➝
"Device Manager".

Check whether the entries shown in red in the Figure
shown here are present. The number of the "USB Serial
Port (COMx)" can be anything.

If any entries are missing

reinstall the USB interface
drivers.
䡵
Close Device Manager.
Note

The entries can only be viewed with an OTT IrDA-Link
USB connected!
4 Changing the COM port numbers used (as required)
How to change the COM port number of the USB interface driver "USB Serial Port":

Connect the OTT IrDA-Link USB to a USB interface on the
PC.

Select "Start"

"Control Panel"
➝
"System"
➝
"Hard-
ware"
➝
"Device Manager".

Click on "USB Serial Port (COMx)" using the right mouse
button and select "Properties".
䡵
Select "Port Settings"
➝
"Advanced...".
䡵
Enter the required (virtual) "COM port number" .
䡵
Click on "OK".
