The CI headpiece can be a source of electromag-
netic interference (EMI) and radio frequency (RF)
interference for FM receivers, depending on the
settings of the processor program. To optimise FM
reception, quality and transmission range the FM-
CI adaptor should be placed a minimum of
12 in/30 cm from the CI headpiece.

A listening check should be performed on the
FM system prior to connecting it to the CI speech
processor.
Using a hearing instrument with an FM adaptor:
• Attach audio shoe to the hearing instrument.
• Attach the Amigo receiver to the audio shoe
and switch to the ”o” position.
• Turn on the hearing instrument and the Amigo
FM transmitter and begin speaking into the
microphone. Listen to the audio output using
stetoclips to avoid feedback.
