Recommended sequence of operations

5.2. Voltage presence indicating relay

See section "5.3. Phase concordance check".

Ormazabal

has two voltage presence indication options:

•

ekor

.vpis unit for indicating voltage, designed in

accordance with Standard IEC 62271-206. The "voltage

presence" indication is therefore displayed when the

line-to-earth voltage is equal to or greater than 45 %

of the rated voltage and is not visible when the line-to-

earth voltage is less than 10 % of the rated voltage.

• The

ekor

.ivds unit for detecting voltage is designed in

accordance with Standard IEC 61243-5. Therefore, the

"voltage presence" detection is displayed when the line-

to-earth voltage is between 45 % and 120 % of the rated

voltage and is not visible when the line-to-earth voltage

is less than 10 % of the rated voltage.

Both units provide a clear visual indication for the user,

without needing an auxiliary power supply for operation.

For each of the three phases, the presence of voltage is

indicated by intermittent flashing of the indicating relays.

The voltage detector has the following indications:

L1, L2, L3 signal each of the indicating relay phases.

The numbering corresponds to the order of the phases,

from left to right, seen from the front of the cubicle.

Each phase has a test point for checking the phase

concordance between cubicles.

Voltage presence indicating relay. The flashing light

indicates the presence of voltage in this phase.

Phase test points. Each phase has a test point for

checking the phase concordance between cubicles.

Earth test point. This is only used for comparing the

phases.

The purpose of the test points for the three phases and

earth is to make it easier to check the phase concordance

[11]

between cubicles.

Ormazabal

's specific phase comparator

ekor

.spc can be used to do this.

With the

ekor

.vpis, if the indicating relays do not light

up, use other means to check that there is no voltage.
