Origin Effects BASSRIG ‘64 BLACK PANEL

OUTPUT:

The output control sets the pedal’s overall output level. As it isn’t part of the BASSRIG’s

recreated amp circuitry, the OUTPUT control will not alter the pedal’s overdrive character. It simply lets you
make it louder or quieter.

TREBLE:

Just like on the original Fender

®

amps, the tone controls are placed before the overdrive. Turning

the TREBLE control up will not only increase top end but also change the character of the overdrive,
making it grittier and more aggressive. Turning this control down will result in a warmer tone and softer
overdrive.

MIDDLE:

This control alters the mid frequency content. Turning this control up will result in a richer, denser

tone, while turning it down will produce a scooped, hollow sound.

BASS:

This control adjusts the amount of low frequencies as well as how “tight” or “thick” overdriven tones

are. In general, higher BASS settings work better with cleaner sounds, with some really deep tones

available. Heavily overdriven sounds can benefit from having the BASS turned down, preventing the

distortion from becoming too “wooly”. But there are no rules – use a clean sound with the BASS set low for
a percussive ‘60s tone, or turn the DRIVE and BASS up and unleash some fuzzy mayhem!

BRIGHT/FAT switch:

The BRIGHT position behaves like a standard bright switch, adding extra high

frequencies in the preamp. Its effect is reduced as the DRIVE is increased. In both the BRIGHT and centre

positions, the pedal’s emulated output stage is configured like a Fender

®

 Showman

®

 – as this stage begins

to distort, bass frequencies are increasingly removed, keeping the low end tighter and more stable. The
FAT position changes the output stage to emulate the Bassman

®

circuit, retaining low frequencies as this

stage distorts. At cleaner settings, this can add warmth and depth to the sound. As the DRIVE increases,
FAT mode will begin to sound out-of-control – and this can be a lot of fun!

BLK/TWD switch:

Switching to the TWD setting changes the pedal’s tone stack to a Fender

®

 “Tweed”

circuit. The BLK setting selects a standard Fender

®

“Black Panel” tone stack. Switching from BLK to TWD

will add mids and gain for a more throaty, aggressive voice.
