5. Electric Cable Maintenance

Unplug electric cable from the wall socket and wind the cable

starting from the machine end of cable

- not the plug end.

This will help prevent the cable from twisting and causing premature failure. Wind the

cable around the hook and the handle (See Picture 11 & 12). Check for any

damage to the cable

while

winding it. If there is any damage do not use the machine until the cable is replaced.

Make sure the cable is looped through the cable restraint (See Picture 13).

6. Motor Thermal Overload Switch and Vacuum Motor Thermal Cut out

The Brush motor is fitted with a thermal overload to protect it. This switch will activate if the motor gets over loaded, after
allowing time for the motor to cool, the overload switch can be reset by pushing the button (See Picture 14). Motor overheating is usually
caused by an extension cord or the wrong brush or pad for the floor surface.

The Vacuum motor is protected by an

automatic

thermal cut out and will

reset itself

when the motor cools down. The cause for

overheating of the vacuum motor is usually attributed to a blockage in the hoses or the filter bag needs cleaning or replacement.

Fitting of the Lid

(see Fig. 5)

The lid needs to be fitted so that the elbow (where the hose fits on) is in the correct position to engage the hose. To
fit the lid, make sure the filter bag is located inside the canister so that the black ring on the filter bag is flush with the
top of the canister. Then locate the lid over the filter bag ring so that the tabs on the lid are in line with the indents on
the canister. Push lid firmly down so that tabs lock into position. Then fit hose by inserting the hose cuff and turning
counter clockwise to a locked position.

ALWAYS MAKE SURE

that the bag support and the white filter disc are fitted under the filter bag. (See Diagram 18).

7.

Removal of the Lid

First remove the hose attached to the lid by turning Clockwise (See Picture 15 & 16). To remove the
lid, place a finger under

the tab in front

of the unit (see picture 17). Pull tab out and up slightly to dis-

engage tab from the body and to clear the black ring on the filter bag. Grab the lid then pivot back and
lift up.
