Obtain the OpenBoot Prompt (Oracle Solaris)

Task

For More Information

“Change the Default Boot Device (OpenBoot)” on page 44

Run diagnostics.

Refer to detecting and managing faults in the service manual for the

server.

Reset and power off the host.

At the OpenBoot prompt, type 

help reset

 to display details about the

reset

 command.

Eject media.

At the OpenBoot prompt, type 

help eject

 to display details about the

Use this procedure when you want to shut down the OS and reach the 

ok

 prompt.

Log in to Oracle Solaris as a user with root privileges.

2.

Shut down the OS.
