Before Use
• Remove any packing material from the kettle.

mains supply voltage is the same as the one indicated on
the label on the underside of this appliance.
• Fill the kettle to the maximum mark (without the base
unit). Bring to the boil and then discard the water. Repeat
this procedure two more time. This removes any residues
that may have reminded from the manufacturing process.
Remove and rinse the filter before use.
How to use
• With the kettle switched off (0), connect the plug into
a suitable power outlet.
• Remove the kettle from the base unit before filling with
water.
• Do not fill through the spout.
• To open the lid pull the lid backwards towards the handle
to rest the lid on its hinge.
• Fill the kettle with no less than the minimum amount (0.5
litres approximately) and no more then the maximum
level mark allows. To ensure that the kettle is not over-
filled always check the water gauge with the kettle on its
base unit.
• Ensure the kettle is fully seated on the power base and
then switch the kettle On (I) by depressing the On/Off
switch. Be sure to fully replace the lid to ensure proper
operation.
• The On/Off indicator light will illuminate illustrating that
the kettle is in operation.
• When water reaches boiling point, the kettle will auto-
matically switch off and the indicator light goes out.
• You may also manually switch off the kettle by gently
pressing the top of the On/Off switch (end nearest the
indicator light) downwards.
• Always ensure the kettle is switched off before removing
from or replacing on the base unit.

Cleaning
• Always unplug from the plug socket before cleaning.
• Clean the exterior surface of the kettle with a damp cloth.
Do not use steel wool pads or abrasive cleaners. Do not
immerse the kettle, the base unit, cord set or plug in
water or liquid of any kind.
• This kettle feature a concealed heating element which
means it never comes into contact with the water inside
the kettle. This hygienic design not only makes cleaning
the inside of the kettle much easier, it also keeps clean-
ing to a minimum.
• The filter inside the kettle needs to be cleaned periodi-
cally, how often will vary according to where you live and
how often you use your kettle. You should clean it when-
ever there are any noticeable deposits left on the filter
and especially if the rate of pouring begins to reduce.
• Although the kettle is designed for the element to remain
scale free, in hard water areas scale may still build up on
the base. Descale regularly using a proprietary descaler.
