Activated carbon filter
For activated carbon filters fitted in
OPERA extractor hoods (C Version),
please read the separate operating in-
structions provided!
Transport, unpacking, installation
Condensation may occur if the appli-
ance is brought into the installation site
from a cold environment. Please wait
until the appliance has adjusted to the
temperature and is completely dry be-
fore operating it. The acclimatization
period depends on the temperature dif-
ference and the type and design of the
appliance. However, it should be at least
12 hours.
Connecting the power supply
Check that the rated voltage indicated
on the appliance matches the mains
voltage in your area. Connection to the
incorrect voltage will damage or destroy
the appliance.
Before switching on the appliance,
check that all cables and lines are
properly fitted and undamaged. Make
sure in particular that there are no kinks
in the cables, that they are not pulled
too tightly around corners and that no
objects are resting on them. Also make
sure that all plug connections are se-
curely inserted. Faulty shielding or wir-
ing poses a health hazard (electric
shock) and can destroy other applianc-
es. Appliances with mains plugs are
fitted with a safety-tested mains cable
for the respective country of use and
may only be connected to a correctly
earthed safety socket. Otherwise, there
is a risk of electric shock. Make sure
that the socket on the appliance or the
domestic safety socket is easily accessi-
ble so that the mains cable can be un-
plugged from the socket in an emergen-
cy or during servicing and maintenance
work.
Danger of electric shock!
Do not clean the hood with a steam
cleaner or water pressure cleaner. The
hood must be disconnected from the
power supply prior to cleaning.

Exhaust hoods from OPERA
Hausgeräte
GmbH are specially de-
signed for the suction of cooking vapors
in private households.
The escaping vapour’s are captured by
the hood and taken into a grease filter
via an exhaust slit. The front side of the
exhaust hood is provided with a special
pane of glass for cosmetic as well as
technical reasons. This pane is arranged
in such a manner that a continuous ex-
haust slit is created which guarantees a
constant exhaust speed.
A „hinge“ in the pane allows access to
the grease filter behind the glass pane.
The illumination is arranged around the
hood lengthwise and is flush with the
hood body for cosmetic as well as clean-
ing purposes. The exhaust settings and
illumination of the hood are regulated
using a control panel (or remote control).
The intervals for the filter cleaning are
also displayed via the control panel. The
lighting concept is determined as per
hood dimensions by a varying number of
halogen lamps which provide sufficient
illumination through corresponding ar-
rangement.
The Ceiling hood represents a further
innovation in the long line of design and
technical ideas from the OPERA
Company. The model is entirely integrat-
ed into the ceiling – created for those
who like full head clearance when cook-
ing and who wish to have their own indi-
vidual style reflected in the kitchen.
The mode of operation:
Due to the suction at the edge of the
glass panel of the hood, (edge extrac-
tion), a flow is created underneath the
ceiling, which flows towards the hood
due to the application of innovative tech-
nology. Fumes and vapours rise up-
wards due to their own thermal dynam-
ics, are collected there by the circulating
flow and extracted by the hood.
