Digital audio connections
The A-DS650 amplifier has a powerful digital signal processor for use with DVD players, DAT decks, and CD players. The digital
inputs, DIGITAL-1, DIGITAL-2, and DIGITAL-3, can be assigned to individual input selector buttons, so when an input selector but-
ton is pressed, the assigned digital input is used instead of the corresponding analog input. (See page 17.)

A DVD or other component equipped with a digital output can be connected to the A-DS650. The digital connection must be used
in conjunction with an analog connection, because if the analog cable is disconnected, the multi-room remote system, TAPE OUT
and REC OUTs, and headphone will not work.
•
When you connect a VCR, etc. to the VIDEO-2 R/L jacks, you must turn the IPM function off (see page 10 for information on the
IPM system).
•
Remove the protective cap attached to the DIGITAL-1 (OPTICAL) terminal before making connection. When this terminal is not
use, replace the protective cap.
