Precautions for Correct Use
• Be sure to set the type of Remote I/O at this point. The number of words occupied by the
CompoNet Communications Unit varies with the Remote I/O type. Unless the Remote I/O
type is set correctly, automatic network configuration cannot be completed successfully.
• To connect additional CompoNet Slaves, set the node addresses for them simultaneously.
13
Cycle the power supply of the inverter. Then, power on all network components (Master
Unit and other Slaves).
14
Once the network is restarted with the new settings, check that the CompoNet Communi-
cations Unit's LED indicators indicate normal operation.
If everything is correctly configured, both the MS (Module Status) LED and the NS (Network Sta-
tus) LED are lit green.
If the LED indicators indicate a different pattern, please refer to
page 6-1 to take corrective action.

• When downloading inverter parameters in the [Parameter Dialog] in CX-Integrator, always
check that the Remote I/O setting parameter P046 (Assembly Instance No.) is set correctly.
If a different parameter setting is transferred, the number of words occupied by the Com-
poNet Communications Unit will be changed, which affects the network configuration.
• For a third-party Master, configure the network according to the Master Unit's configuration
steps.
Additional Information
The Master Unit checks the connection information on each slave and automatically allocates
the output and input data of the Slaves to the data areas of the CS/CJ-series.
The Registration Table function registers each node address of Slave Units which should participate in
the network, and checks the participating Slave Units.
The function is enabled only when a type of Remote I/O that occupies IN 2/OUT 2 words (Basic Speed
I/O or Standard I/O) is selected. The Register Table function is used in the following cases.
• Checking the Slaves participating in the network against the Slaves you configured.
• Preventing unregistered Slaves or Slaves with unmatched node addresses or models from participat-
ing in the network.
The Registration Table function is enabled only when the REGA switch on the Master Unit is ON and
the CompoNet communications network operates normally.
The following explains how to configure the Registration Table function using CX-Integrator.

Precautions for Correct Use
The Registration Table function is enabled when a type of Remote I/O that occupies other
than IN 2/OUT 2 words (Basic Speed I/O or Standard I/O) is selected on the CompoNet Com-
munications Unit. In this case, registering and enabling a Registration Table causes the NS
LED indicator on the CompoNet Communications Unit to remain flashing and therefore Com-
poNet communications cannot be established.
