Basic operation
5.1
Viewing an observation object
1
Turn on distal end illumination.
2
While watching the screen, insert the insertion tube into the observation
object.
Insert carefully while checking the insertion direction.
3
Use the angulation lever to perform angulation operations and observe the
applicable locations on the screen.
Be careful not to apply excessive pushing force, twisting or tension to the insertion tube.
4
Lock the angulation section angle and direction (angulation lock) and perform
observation.
When the desired angle to be maintained is reached during angulation operation, pull the
angulation lock lever towards you. The angulation section will be fixed at that angle. Angulation
can also be fine-adjusted while the angulation section is still in a locked state.
5
Remove your finger from the angulation lever, and while watching the screen
gently draw out the insertion tube from the observation object.
If the angulation section is locked, return the angulation lock lever to unlock angulation and
then draw out the insertion tube.
CAUTION
•
Should you sense any abnormality, do not try to force the operation and carefully withdraw the insertion
tube. Note the following precautions when withdrawing the insertion tube.
-
Do not try to withdraw from the observation object while angulation is locked or while the angulation
section is bent.
-
If the insertion tube becomes caught on something during withdrawal, rotate the control unit gently while
continuing the withdrawal.
-
Draw out the angulation section with its bending direction matched to the bending direction of the
conduit of the observation object.
NOTE
•
Increasing the insertion tube looping amount (bending amount) decreases the maximum angulation angle
limit of the angulation section. Keep the insertion tube as straight as possible to get the best operations
from the instrument.
•
Angulation tends to be difficult to achieve under low temperatures.
•
The image noise may be extreme under high ambient temperatures.
•
The LCD monitor may not display data normally when the instrument is used in an environment where
temperatures are below 0
°
C. Use a heater to warm the area before operation.
