Calibrate Sensor Control
In common with all CMOS sensor chips, the Olympus
i
-- SPEED 2
sensor requires a calibration system to remove fixed pattern noise.
The standard Olympus
i
-- SPEED 2 provides a fully automatic
off--chip calibration system which operates in under a second. This
system includes a mechanical shutter which removes the
requirement for the user to manually cover the lens as is found on
less capable cameras. The shutter gives a characteristic click
sound when it operates. Manual operation of the system is not
usually necessary, but may be required in very high ambient
temperatures. Further discussion may be found in Chapter 8

This control allows the user to manually trigger the calibration
system.
NOTE
To calibrate the
i
-- SPEED 2 HG the lens cap should be
fitted before depressing Calibrate sensor.

Ethernet
When using multiple cameras in conjunction with the PC software,
each camera will need to have a unique TCP/IP address. Every
i--SPEED 2 camera has a default address of 192.168.0.54. This
control allows this address to be configured for each camera on the
network. Once set, the TCP/IP address will be stored in the
cameras memory.
