Offset (Black
Balance)
With the
Offset (Black Balance)
value, you can, with the individual color channels,
subtract a background value. This correction will be applied to every one of the
image's pixels.
Normally, you should never alter the offset value manually. Instead, use the
Black
Balance
command, in the
Camera Control
tool window. The results of the black
balance will be automatically adopted in the fields of this dialog box.
Changing the offset value will lead to changes in the image's colors. Therefore, only
change this value when it is necessary for the images, e.g., with fluorescence acqui-
sitions.
The
Offset (Black Balance)
group is only available when you have selected the image
types "24 bit RGB Color" or "48 bit RGB Color" (see
Image Type
on page 18).
Default
Click the
Default
button, to have all of the settings in this dialog box reset to their orig-
inal values. All of the color channels' gain factors will be set at 1, all of the color chan-
nels' offset at 0.
Adjustment
Use this dialog box in the
Camera Settings
to change the camera's contrast settings
manually.
You will change the settings for all color channels simultaneously. If you want to
accentuate or tone down one particular color channel, use the functions in the
Color
dialog box.
Gamma
Gamma increases, respectively lowers the image contrast, subject to the intensity I
of a pixel, according to the following equation.
