Main Control Panel
This is the main control panel for the double side jointing planer. It contains several items: global ON/OFF controls for the
machine, ON/OFF controls for both cutterheads, ON/OFF controls for the feed system, digital thickness controls and an
emergency stop button.
Feed Speed Adjustment
By rotating this knob the feed speed can be adjusted from 21 to 66 feet per minute. Note that the scale on the knob displays
values from 1 to 11 (21 to 66 fpm).
Height Adjustment and Lock Lever for Feed Points
The black handle shown in Figure 10 is the adjustment lever for the vertical position of the spring-loaded feed points of the
feed system. The entire bed of feed points can be moved up or down to decrease or increase the amount of pressure applied
to the workpiece. The orange lever is the lock lever for this height adjustment.
Breaker / Door Lock
This door lock is actually a 100 amp breaker for the machine. In order to open the door of the electrical panel, the breaker
must be switched off.
Carriage Controls
This pair of buttons is used to move the carriage up or down. The operator may wish to move the carriage when clearing
chips, setting the planer to an approximate thickness or when cleaning the machine’s bed.
Infeed Bed Handwheel
This handwheel is used to raise or lower the infeed bed. This is how the depth of cut, taken by the lower cutterhead,
is adjusted.
