Maintenance
The air-conditioner which you have purchased has been
designed in such a way as to diminish the maintenance
tasks necessary and to render them within range of the
user’s capacities. In fact, only three cleaning operations are
necessay.
5.1
Cleaning of internal unit filter
To make sure that the inside air is correctly filtered and to
assure that your air conditioner runs correctly, regularly
clean the air filter.
The need for this vital maintenance work is signalled when
a red LED lights up on the display console after an
appropriate running time (Fig. 1).
The filter’s function is to remove all impurities present in the
air which otherwise would dirty the battery and lead to a
reduction in output.
For this reason the appliance should never be used without
filters (not even momentarily).
Furthermore, the filter’s clogging leads to a reduction in air
intake and a subsequent reduction in output.
For this reason, the appliance’s console has been equipped
with a timed pilot light (red LED which indicates the necessity
to clean the filter) which, 320 hours after the last resetting
was done it will light up reminding you to check the condition
of the filters.
The filters should be cleaned in the following way (fig. 19):
a) Open the filter access door.
b) Take hold of the upper edge of the filters and extract
them by pulling upwards.
c) Wash the filters with a jet of water aiming at the opposite
side to where the dust has accumulated (for example, by
using the spray head from the bath).
IMPORTANT: If the dirt is greasy and cannot be removed by
spraying, immerse the filters beforehand in a solution of
water and strictly neutral liquid detergent (for example, hair
shampoo).
d) Gently shake the filters to aid the drying process which
should take place in the shade and away from heat
sources.
e) Insert the filters into the appliance paying attention that
the edges do not come out of the side slots.
f)
Close the access door by slightly pressing on the points
shown in fig. 20.
g) Using a thin object, press the LED resetting micro-switch
which indicates that the filters should be cleaned. In
doing so the red LED goes off.
