3.12

On-line Test

The user or service personnel can do an on-line test of the following items

Test items:

 General

 Reception

 Transmission

3.12.1

General

Press the AUTO 

 REQUEST key, and confirm that the AUTO REC lamp

is lit. Hook up the telephone handset, making sure that the lamp goes off.

Pick up the handset in the standby mode and press the START button. After 

35 seconds, themachine can take a time out. Make sure that:

 the 

ALARM 

lamp lights;

the audible alarm sounds.

Note:

The alarm lamp will continue until 

 button is pressed.

The audible alarm will continue until the STOP button is pressed or the

handset is hooked on.

Set a document on the ADF stacker, press the COPY key, and 

 the

document before it is fed into the machine.

Make sure that the alarm lamp lights.

Note:

Press the STOP button to reset the alarm.

3.12.2

Reception

(1)

Call the installed machine with anothertelephone, and make sure that:

the machine can respond to the call, the AUTO REC lamp goes off.

(2)

After about 35 seconds under above conditions, the machine can take a time out.

Make sure that the audible alarm sounds, and then stops automatically.

(3)

To receive facsimile messages from a remote G3 machine

(4)

Check the reproduced copy and so on.
