4.5.2 Measuring the Density of a floating Solid Using Water
1. Press and hold the Function / Mode button until
Density appears. Press Yes to enter the Density
Determination .
2. In determining density with the balance, the balance
setup and density determination procedures are
basically the same for a floating solid and a non-
floating solid except for the necessary holder (as
shown in the figure) to be used for density
determination.
3. After completion of the test, press the Function /
Mode button to test a new sample.
Note: Lower the sample down into the liquid until it is fully
submerged.

4.5.3 Measuring the Density of a Solid Using an Auxiliary Liquid other than Water
1. Press and hold the Function / Mode button until Density
appears. Press Yes to enter the Density Determination .

Set the density of the auxiliary liquid:
2. The default value of the auxiliary liquid is 1.00000 g/cm 3
3. Press No or Back to increase or decrease the value in
accordance with the actual density of the auxiliary liquid.
