STEP 3
The lock "under" the scope is completely
open during storage or transport.
STEP 4
Gently slide the carbon light shield, without
jerking, until the rail guide (black part) reach
the steel limiter.
Screw the locking screw (note the different
position of this screw in this photo and in
step 3).
STEP 5
Use the two screws you removed in step 1 to
lock the carbon light shield in place.
Together with the "under the scope" screw,
they locate 120° apart.
This procedure may look a bit complex, but it is essential to guarantee the exact position of the
entry pupil of the
Veloce.
This is important for optimal performance of the optics. Please note that
the extended light shield is also important for the correct acquisition of flat frames,
that must be
taken with the light shield fully extracted
, i.e. like the light frames.
For retracting the hood in the carrying position, just invert the above procedure.
7.2) Installing equipment at the prime focus
The
Veloce
telescopes may be bought with or without
Finefocus
, the original
Officina Stellare
focuser. If you ordered the
Veloce
without focuser,
Officina Stellare
can provide all the adapters
needed to connect your equipment. Just let us know. Please remember the back focus of the
Veloce
is limited (115 mm for the
Veloce
200). This is the primary limit for your optical train. If you
