5.8 Heat source water connection
If ground water is to be used as heat carrier me-
dium, only clean drinking-quality water with no
clouding particles must be used. When using
ground water, a cleanable large surface filter with
a mesh size of 500 Microns is to be installed. For
increased safety, we recommend the use of our
centrifugal filter.
Before installing the system, a water
analysis, which gives information on the
water properties, must be carried out.
-
The removal of water for analysis must
take place shortly before the end of a con-
tinuous pumping operation and immedi-
ately analysed (otherwise, incorrect water
values will be used for analysis). We fur-
thermore recommend an annual in testing
of the water quality.
-
The flow rate in the pipe-network must
not exceed
0.8 m/s.
-
In order to ensure a comfortable and dis-
turbance-free operation, a temperature
difference of
3K
between the heating sys-
tem flow and return is to be maintained.
-
The temperature range limits for the heat
source are between
+8°C and +22°C
OCHSNER accepts no liability for the correctness
of the analyses resp. changes in water quality.
5.8.1 Water quality
Aggressive and coking materials can lead to corro-
sion and clogging of the evaporator, the feed
pump and the pipework (heat pump malfunction).
Adhere to the values in
ATTENTION:
A water analysis can only be a momen-
tary value. The values can fluctuate
considerably in the course of a year.
The evaluation of a meaningful use can, however,
only be carried out with the measured values!

Notes:
1.)
If these limiting values cannot be ensured, a
stainless steel soldered stainless steel heat ex-
changer must be installed in place of the cop-
per soldered stainless steel heat exchanger.
This information must be made know when or-
dering!
2.)
Due to probable clogging, we do not recom-
mend installing a water/water heat pump.
3.)
Besides iron and manganese, the chloride con-
centration is essentially decisive for the deploy-
ment of a stainless steel soldered heat ex-
changer.
