OBH Nordica electronic kitchen scale
Before use
Before you use the kitchen scale for the first time, please read the instruction manual
carefully and save it for future use.
Some information about scales
There are various kinds of scales:
1. The traditional, mechanical scale that registers the weight by means of a spring. The
weight can be read on a disc.
2. The digital scale is also a mechanical scale. The only difference is the reading of the
weight on a display.
3. The modern, electronic scale, where the weighing is controlled by an electronic sensor
that transmits the weight electronically for reading on a display. The advantage of the
electronic scale as compared to the mechanical or digital scale is first of all the fact
that the registration of the weight is far more exact – and the accuracy is eternal. The
mechanical and digital scales, however, will over time be more imprecise due to the
wear and tear of the spring.
You have to consider the fact that an electronic scale is sensitive to serious temperature
fluctuations. Inaccuracies may occur if the scale is cold. Consequently, the scale should be
used at room temperature.
Activation and changing of battery
The scale takes 1 lithium battery type CR2032. The battery shall be activated before use.
This is done by carefully removing the transparent plastic slip from the battery housing. Let
the scale get room temperature before use.
When changing the battery, remove the battery housing on the back of the scale. You can
now change the old battery and insert the new battery in the housing in such a way that it is
firmly fixed – remember to position the battery correctly.
Mount the battery cover again. “Lo” will be displayed when the battery needs to be changed.
Weighing
Switch on the kitchen scale by pressing the ON/OFF/TARE button at the bottom to the right.
The scale registers up to 5 kg.
By pressing the UNIT button at the bottom to the left, you can switch among g, fl.oz., lb oz
and ml.
Resetting
This kitchen scale comprises a practical resetting function to make it possible to weigh all
ingredients in just one bowl, one at a time. After weighing of the first ingredient, press shortly
the ON/OFF/TARE button to reset the scale. If the weight of the ingredient exceeds 2 g, the
display will show ”0 g”. If the weight of the ingredient exceeds 600 g ±20 g ”TARE” will be
displayed at the lower left corner after resetting.
