• Lift the lid from the bean container and fill it with coffee beans and replace
the lid. The bean container can hold up to 200 g coffee beans. Note: Only
coffee beans should be filled into the bean container. The coffee beans keeps
its aroma for up to two weeks in the container.
• Set the grind amount selector to the number of cups of coffee you want
to grind by sliding the grind amount selector (at the front of the appliance)
above the correct number. These numbers are to be used as a guide. The
amount of ground coffee varies quite a bit depending on how coarse or fine
you grind and whether you use light, dry beans or dark oily beans. After
grinding a few times you will find the correct grind amount position for the
amount of coffee you want to grind.
• Set the fineness selector (on the side of the appliance) to the desired setting.
If you want coarse grinded coffee that is suitable for perculators and press
coffee makers, you should set the wheel at setting 8 or 9. If you want a more
finely grinded coffee for espresso makers for example, you should set the
wheel at setting 4. We recommend that you test different settings to find the
ultimate setting for your need.
• Note!
Never change the fineness selector setting while grinding.
• Push and hold the switch to start the appliance. The grinder will begin
to grind the coffee directly into the ground coffee container and will stop
automatically.
Attention:
beans may stick to the wall of the bean container
preventing them from falling into the burrs. You will hear a high pitched
noise from the motor when this happens. Gently shake the grinder so that
the beans slide down into the burrs. Note, if you need to turn the grinder off
before the grinding cycle is finished, slide the grind amount selector to the
STOP position.
• Be sure to turn off the appliance and disconnect the plug after use.
Grinding tips
• Never grind in advance, only grind the amount of coffee you will use. Ground
coffee loses aroma and flavour quickly and attracts other odours.
• Do not grind for more than one minute at a time. Let machine cool down for
5 minutes before grinding again.
• Empty the coffee ground container before it is completely full. Otherwise
ground coffee can back up to the grinding chute and block the grinding
mechanism.
• Before removing the ground coffee container, tap the machine a few times.
This will relieve some of the static build-up which occurs during grinding.
Cleaning and maintenance
• Always unplug your coffee grinder before cleaning.
