INSTALLATION
STEP 1:
Determine the placement of the amplifier. Consider the following:
• The need to place the amplifier in a rack or on a shelf.
• The number of subwoofers being connected to the amplifier.
• The minimum amount of space required around the amplifier to allow for adequate cooling and ventilation.
• The need to access the adjustment controls to fine-tune your amplifier.
STEP 2:
Confirm the voltage setting for your application. The indented end of the voltage selector switch should be under the screw above the appropriately
labeled voltage level. If you need to change the voltage setting:
a. Loosen the screws securing the voltage selector switch cover.
b. Slide the cover up and move the switch so that the indented end of the switch is under the screw above the correct voltage level label.
c. Slide the cover down and re-tighten the screws.
STEP 3:
Connect the receiver to the amplifier using option a, option b, option c, or option d (depending on your receiver):
NOTE:
Use the highest quality cables and connectors possible for low impedance.
Use of a minimum of 16-gauge, stranded speaker cable is recommended.
IMPORTANT:
Before proceeding with these instructions, make sure the power is off to the amplifier.
Do NOT connect the power cord until all connections are complete.
a.
Use a line-level RCA cable connection (applicable to all models) See Fig. 4
– Run the cable from the right channel of the RCA output port on the receiver to the right channel,
low-level input port on the amplifier.
– Run the cable from the left channel of the RCA output port on the receiver to the left channel
input port on the amplifier.
~or~
b. Use the LFE connection (applicable to all models) See Fig. 5:
Run the cable from the SUB RCA output port on the receiver to the LFE input port on the amplifier.
~or~
c. Use a high-level in connection (for NV-SUBAMP100-xx models) See Fig. 6
:
1. Strip approximately 1/4 n. (6.4 mm) of insulation from the inner conductor wire.
2. Terminate the speaker wire into the modular plug.
3. Insert the plug into the appropriate zone output on the back panel.
IMPORTANT:
Be careful not to let the exposed speaker wires touch. This will short the connection and could damage
the amplifier
~or~
d. Use a 12 V trigger connection (for NV-SUBAMP200-xx and NV-SUBAMP500 models) See Fig. 7
:
– Run the 12 V trigger connection from the output of the device to the 12 V trigger input of
the amplifier.
– If using a 12 V power supply plugged into an outlet on the receiver, connect the wires to
the trigger terminals.
– When using a Nuvo wireless subwoofer connection kit,
you can modify the USB power cable for the receiver by
following the cable pin out chart.
