5. Sterilising baby feeding bottles, teats and accessories
5.1 General sterilising
information
Newborn babies initially do not have an
adequate resistance to protect them against
pathogenic germs which may cause illness.
This means that when you prepare infant
feeds it is vital that the bottles, teats, etc. are
properly sterilised so they are germ free.
Even tiny feed residues left on teats and
bottles can easily lead to microbial growth.
The steam steriliser uses heat to disinfect the
components.
Water is converted into steam
.
The heat generated therefore disinfects the
components inside the steriliser swiftly and
reliably. This way the teats and feeding bottles
only come into contact with heat and steam.
As the steam steriliser uses very little water,
only minimal power is required.
