Connecting to a Cell Phone Using Cables
(R-Talk 800EX, R-Talk 800PC)

Insert the 3.5 mm plug

the main unit.

Insert the plug of the
2.5 mm Jack - 3.5
mm 4-Pin Plug
Cable into the
connector of the cell
phone.

Insert the DC plug of the power
adapter into the connection
terminal for the power adapter.

Insert the power adapter into
the power outlet.

Press the “|” symbol on the power
switch (POWER) to turn the unit on.

If you use batteries, you do not need to
follow the steps (

) for connecting
the power adapter.
For R-Talk 800PC, the power adapter is
optional.
For R-Talk 800PC, you need Cell Phone Cable Set for R-Talk (optional, see p. 9). Select the
cable type which is compatible with the cell phone you use.

Dial a number on the cell phone to connect to the other party.

Speak into the main unit.
Tip
If the other party’s voice is too loud or too faint:
Adjust the ear piece volume of the cell phone in order to attain the appropriate volume. If no adjustment is possible on
the cell phone, adjust the speaker volume (see p. 10). The status lights indicate the other party’s voice level (see p. 11).
If the other party says your voice is too loud or too faint:
Adjust the microphone volume (see p. 10).
Caution
Be sure you align the cell phone cable to the direction of the connector.
Use cell phones at least 1 m away from the main unit. If they are too close to the unit, noise may occur.
Note
Some cell phone models need a separate conversion connector.
Some cell phones generate an echo effect.
To protect the speaker, the speaker output may turn off when the excessive signal is sent to the main unit. In this case,
you need to turn the main unit off and on again.
