Chapter 2 - Topology and Operating Modes

Operating Modes

Logical View - FC-SATA Controller

Operating Modes

Direct Attach Connection - Single Host (Single HBA)

This topology supports standard single port direct attached configurations. The host

employs a single port FC HBA. In this configuration you will have one 2Gb path to

the storage.

Direct Attach Connection - Single Host (Dual HBA)

This topology supports standard single or dual ported direct attached configurations.

The host employs a dual ported FC HBA or two single ported FC HBAs. In this

configuration you will have two 2Gb paths to the storage. The multiple paths

provide for maximum controller bandwidth and optional upstream failover.
