Step 4

 

Turn the power switch to 1 (or pull the power switch of each board to the left for ADS NX5-
10000) to turn on the power module. 

 

 

On ADS NX5-10000, the power switch, after being pulled left, will immediately flip 
back to the original position.

 

 

Step 5

 

Check the status of the power LED on the front panel of the ADS device. 

For details on the power LED and status LED, see 

Table 1-4

 and 

Table 1-5

Connecting to the Network

 

Connect the ADS device to the network according to the actual network architecture. 

Pay attention to the following: 

 

Use straight-through cables to connect the switch to the communication interface of the 
device. 

 

The ADS device can be deployed anywhere in the network. However, to achieve the 
optimal performance, you are advised to connect it to the switch on the backbone 
network of the intranet. 

 

After deployment, please adapt network settings immediately to the actual network 
environment. For details on default parameters of the ADS device, see appendix 

A Default Parameters

. 

 

 

You can modify network settings at either the console management interface or web-
based manager (see chapter 

4 Initial Configuration

).

 

3.4

 

Shutting Down the Device

 

 

For ADS NX3-2020/2020E/2010, NX5-4020/4020E, NX5-6025/6025E, NX3-
HD2500/NX5-HD4500/6500, NX3-200E/600E/800E, and NX5-8000, you can turn the 
power switch to 0 to shut down the device. 

 

For ADS NX5-10000, you need to pull the power switch to the left and hold it for at least 
4 seconds to shut down the device. The entire system can be shut down only after the 
power switch of each service board is turned off. After ADS is shut down, you can pull 
the power switch to the left to turn it on again.
