3.2.5. RS232 / RS485
After selecting this submenu and pressing

the following screen appears:
RS-232 and RS-485 may be configured in this submenu.

row allows for setting the transmission speed of RS232/RS-485 ports (with

Subsequent three rows allow for configuring such parameters as
Data
(number of data bits),
Stop
(number of stop bits) as well as parity.
Usage
row allows for setting a mode for the selected port:
Text-In
- port used for receiving ASCII-type data from peripherals such as ATMs, cash
registers etc.
PTZ
- port used for PTZ (or other RS-485-equipped cameras) remote controlling.
Keyboard

port used for controlling the DVR via a control keyboard.
Note:
Only one function may be assigned to a port at a time.
Note:
RS232 port has the ability to communicate with RS-485-equipped devices after purchasing a
separate adapter.
Note:
To establish a proper communication, both the DVR and camera RS232/RS485 settings
should be the same.
