1.0Descriptions
1.1 Speedroller
The Novoferm Speedroller is an electrically driven fast
action roller door for interior use (up to 4000 mm x 5000
mm). The Novoferm Speedroller is particularly suited to
applications with extremely intensive traffic requirements.
These doors are used in industrial and commercial
buildings for purposes of energy saving, draught exclusion
and climate control.
Specification, construction
The Novoferm fast action roller door type Speedroller is not
fitted with balance springs. The door is built up of horizontal
profiles, which are wound on a steel roller above the door
opening by means of an electric motor/gearbox. The sections
are composed of reinforced 1,2 mm PVC sheet, linked together
by means of aluminium hinge profiles. As standard the door is
fitted with a transparent vision section. The closing edge of the
door consists of an aluminium beam fitted as standard with a
flexible rubber seal and safety edge protection. Galvanised side
channels fitted with brush draught seals guide and support the
door panel.

Drive
The drive unit consists of an electric motor/gearbox unit, which
drives the drum directly and is fitted as standard with an anti-
roll-off device. Drive unit mounted on the right (standard
location) or on the left.
Controls
The electrical control box contains a control PCB offering the
following standard functions:
•
open position duration adjustable between 5 - 80 seconds
• "service mode" for assembly and maintenance
• LED indicators enabling rapid fault finding
Operation
As standard the control box has 2 push buttons (open-close), an
emergency/stop switch and a 4-pole disconnectable main power
switch. Various actuators can be used.

Safety
• in the event of power failure the door can be cranked open
by hand
• the lower beam is fitted with a self-testing safety edge,
which stops the door and immediately opens it again when
the door encounters an obstacle while closing. The door
then remains open until reset
• a safety photocell with a reflector is mounted on the guide
channels (400 mm from the floor) as standard. When the
beam is interrupted the door will not close
• the drive unit is specified with an integrated anti-roll-off
device
Mounting structure requirements and connection
• power supply must be present within 500 mm of the control
box
• required installation space as indicated in the illustration
• a stable, flat mounting surface or steel frame for mounting
the door
