Reverse Address Resolution Protocol
(RARP):
RARP is a protocol used by some old
diskless devices to obtain IP addresses by
providing the MAC layer address. When you
create a VLAN based on RARP, you can
limit the RARP broadcasts to the ports that
lead to the RARP server.
