3 Enter this command:
cd smaint
4 Enter this command:
ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Where

represents your ELAN MGC IP
address.
5 Observe the result of the ping.
A successful E1/T1 connection results in output as shown in
Figure 23 "Ping results of a successful E1/T1 connection to
ELAN subnet" (page 112)

Verifying a network connection from a PC
Step Action
1 On a PC, click Start and the select Run from the Start Menu.
2 In the Open: box, enter the following and click OK:
ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Where
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
represents your ELAN MGC IP
address.
3 Observe the result of the ping.
An example of successful results is shown in Figure 23 "Ping
results of a successful E1/T1 connection to ELAN subnet" (page
112)
. An example of no connection is shown in Figure 24 "Ping
results of no E1/T1 connection to ELAN subnet" (page 112) .
