CHARGING PROCEDURE

(For maintenance type battery only)

Maintenance batteries have caps to access the chambers containing the plates and the electrolyte. For a battery to function

correctly and to ensure its working life, 1he level of the electrolyte must be kept up to the maximum mark inside the chambers.

This is particularly important before charging. When 1Dppjng up, it is important that eye protection and rubber gloves are worn. It

is necessary to maintain the electrolyte levels with distilled water, never use tap water. When adjusted. the caps should remain off

through out the charging process.

To Charge

NOTE: We recommend that the battery is disconnected from the vehicle. This will avoid any possible damage to the alternator.

Check the car battery voltage matches that of the charger.

Follow these procedures to charge:

1. Check polarity of battery posts.

Battery case will be marked by each post: POSITIVE (POS, P, +) and NEGATIVE (NEGN, -).

NOTE: The positive battery post usually has a luger diameter than the negative post.

2. Connect POSITIVE (RED) cable to appropriate output pole with desired voltage.

3. Connect POSITIVE (RED) charger clip to POSITIVE (POS,P, +) post of battery.

Connect NEGTIVE(BLACK) charger clip to NEGTIVE(BLACK,N,-) post of battery.

Rock clip back and forth to make good connection.

WARNING: Do not face battery when making final connection.

4. Plug charger AC cord into a 220 volt main supply

5. Switch on charger and then select amperage (See 4.3)

6. Monitor the ammeter, when the battery reaches a full charge 14V (or 27V accordingly) the input current will reduce to zero

on the ammeter. Then switch the charger off.

7. Disconnect the charger from battery with reverse order.

Charge rate selection

Choose charging current according to rating plate.

1 + MIN: Regular charge, for battery size 40-450 AH

2 + MIN: Regular charge, for battery size 100-600 AH

1 + MAX: Quick charge, for battery size 40-450 AH.

With this set, charging voltage is higher than regular charge, please switch MAX to MIN within 1 hour, otherwise, the battery could

be damaged.

2 + MAX: Quick charge, for battery size 100-600 AH.

CAUTION! Double check the polarity connection before proceeding.
