default gateway, and the advanced TCP/IP settings can also be specified and
configured manually. Ask your system administrator for the correct values.
Note:
Make sure that the
Manage TCP/IP properties together with
profiles
check box is selected on the General settings page/
Advanced
tab.
If this check box is not selected, the TCP/IP settings are managed by
network settings which can be configured in the
Control Panel
.
If you want your computer to log on to a specific domain, select the
Log on to
domain
check box. You must have a user name and password for the domain.
Note:
Make sure that the
Manage domain settings together with profiles
check box is selected (General settings page,
Advanced
tab). If this check
box is not selected, the logon settings are managed by network settings
which can be configured in the
Control Panel
.
In the
Workgroup
text box you can type a name of a workgroup if you want
your computer to join one. Click
Next
.
Note:
In Windows 95/98/Me, you must always specify a workgroup name.

The
Profile creation complete
window informs you when the creation of a new
profile is completed. Click
Finish
.
Note:
When you have created a new profile and want to use it for the first
time, you may be prompted to restart your computer.
Removing profiles
You can remove a profile from the list of profiles. Select a profile from the list and
click
Remove
.
The default profiles that were created automatically during installation (Quick
Infrastructure, Quick Ad Hoc, and Wired LAN) cannot be deleted.
Profiles that are stored on a smart card can only be removed on the Administrator
page by the system administrator.
Editing profiles
You may want to edit an existing profile or create a new profile with similar
settings to an old one.

On the Profiles page, select the profile from the list of profiles and click
Edit
.

Make the necessary changes and click
OK
. If you want to create an entirely new
profile, click
Save As
and give the modified profile a new name.
