Infrared activation

If you want to use the PC Suite for Nokia 9110 Communicator program (see
”To use the PC Suite” on page 29) with the infrared connection, or if you want
to receive data from another device via the infrared, you need to use the
Infrared activation application.

Make sure that the infrared port of the communicator faces the infrared
port of the PC or another device.

Open the Infrared activation application on the communicator.

Press 

Activate

.

To end the infrared connection, press 

Disable

.

To transfer data between two communicators

Make sure that the infrared ports of the communicators face each other.

Open the Infrared activation application on the receiving communicator.

3

In the sending communicator, go to the application from where you want
to transfer data, and press 

Transfer via IR

.

Note:

 A maximum of 20 

files can be transferred at 
a time.

Tip: 

The infrared link can also 

be activated by pressing Chr-1 

on the communicator keyboard.

Note: 

The infrared connection in Windows 

2000 and NT 4.0 is not compatible with the 
communicator. When using these operating 
systems, connection to the PC should be made 
via cable, see ”To use the PC Suite” on page 29.
